A soft sigh escaped his lips as he looked down at the playing cards before him. His heart was heavy, and he didn't really know what the point of this was. Was this supposed to get his mind off of what happened at the wedding? After everything, after Alonzo had stormed off he had heard the crash. He'd looked for Vinny, realizing that he shouldn't have been so cruel, but to no avail. He had been long gone. Now, two days later, he was feeling worse than ever. Even Lily's presence hadn't been enough to put him in good spirits. She was grieving, too. Well, he figured she was. Alonzo's anger had faded in an instant the moment he thought Vinny had been killed in that mess. He still wasn't angry. At least not with Vinny. He was livid with himself. He felt like such a horrible friend. He had let Vinny down. He felt it every time he looked at the pain on the rest of the family's faces. He couldn't look them in the eyes anymore. So, he had been sulking and following the orders he was issued as he slowly began to realize that Vinny wasn't coming back, and it was all Al's fault.
He sighed again, just waiting on Leo and Lily at this point. The old worn playing cards were a bit faded and bent, but it was the best he could do. He knew it wasn't a matching deck, but he had made sure all the cards needed were there. All fifty-two of them.
He felt like shit.
Still, he knew Leo would need to learn more about the game if they were to still go through with this plan for the Crown Jules. Alonzo had agreed to teach him as much as he could, and the subject tonight was Blackjack. He prefered poker, but Blackjack could sometimes pull in more money. He looked down at his paws. His heart wasn't fully in it. He had been out on the streets looking every night for his lost brother. His eyes were tired. His head hung low, and his ears flattened against his skull.
He hoped this would take his mind off of it, but he highly doubted it.
