Lily had almost pushed past Vincent to get at Charlotte, but she stopped herself. She began to wonder exactly what she was doing, she wasn't quite angry, more defensive, but she was acting angry. Vinny's ill attempt at humor didn't help Lily's mood either. However, she wasn't going to let the annoying spotted dog seem better that her, so although she was still glaring on the inside, she composed herself enough to change her expression to a slightly friendlier one. Lily knew that if a fight was forced, that Vinny would fight on her side, but she also knew that if she started it, then she would be jeopardizing her friendship with Vinny.
Lily almost smiled when Vinny seemed more interested in where the junkyard shrew came from than in Charlotte herself. She didn't like the fact that he was apologizing for her though. Lily was glad to be considered as nice though, since she didn't get along with other's very well... Case in point. When Vinny suggested that they leave, she was all for it.
And then Vinny invited Charlotte and her to a carnival. Lily swiftly weighed her options and decided that she'd rather not go to the carnival, she was pretty tired and she'd come to ask Vinny where she could find the best food at this time of day. Then the junkyard witch agreed to go. Lily certainly couldn't refuse now, it would be seen as avoiding a sort of peace treaty. "I would love to go as well," she said, her usual quiet self taking control again. "But Vinny, what exactly is a carnival?" Lily had been to many places and had done many things, but she'd never been to a carnival. She hated to seem ignorant, especially around someone who isn't friendly, but she would rather be prepared than be overwhelmed by new things that could frighten her, she doesn't scare easy, but you never know.
