Analise sighed, feeling the pull of the brush through her fur. She eyed her human boredly wriggling this way and that until he finally gave up with a sigh and let her scamper off his lap. She ran to the door, scratching until the human turned the knob and with a breath of cold winter air she was free once more. It had been a day or so since she had seen Rua or Crowley.....or those other two...whatever their names were. The hired muscle that she did not pay much attention to. With a sigh she replayed the previous nights events in her mind. Thinking of the handsome beast that had accompanied her home.....and the way she had practically had to force him to leave. She still smelled like him, something that made her frown. It had been fun.....but that was it. She didn't like any lingering proof of her exploits. But with a shrug she continued on, her small feet carrying her steadily over the concrete. Stopping at a traffic light she waited until one of the tall humans triggered it and then followed her quickly across the road. Ignoring the cooing and calling that followed her. Humans...geez.
She needed to make a contribution to the packs stash. So far she had done little more than hang around with Rua. And seeing as how Crowley already seemed to think she was useless...yeah.....she needed to show him that she wasn't. She had let her mind wander along with her feet and found herself behind a small family owned restaurant not far from her own home. Sniffing around the dumpster she could tell there was something good inside. She whined, hating her size for only the hundreth time today. Luckily though someone had left a cinder block lying beside the dumpster and it was just enough of a boost to get the little dog inside. She sniffed around, trying to not touch any of the more unsavory smelling things. Using her nose she pushed paper bags and napkins out of her way.....She was about to end her search when she came across an enormous hunk of meat. Perhaps a day past its prime for the humans.....but still fitting for a dog. Wiggling her little rump she leaned over and sank her teeth into the raw meat, salivating as blood ran down her throat.
With a shuffling of feet and a series of clicking nails she was on the ground, carrying the meat with some difficulty. Her little head turned to the side as she tried to carry it. She had to get to Crowley territory and fast....before anyone noticed her. Heaving a breath she hurried on stopping short only when she needed to take a breath. And then he was there.....the dog from the night before...what was his name? Butch? Bart? Something with a B.....
Analise resisted the urge to roll her eyes as he tromped up to her, apparently still unhappy about his dismissal the night before.
"I'm not a piece of meat you know Analise."
Slowly she sat her prize down on the pavement, blue eyes flickering upwards to the larger dog. A charming smile on her face.
"Of course not......B...Ba...."
"Bartholomew...."
"Yes....you see about last night....it was fun but....I'm not looking for anything more...."
He laughed, a dark sound that bubbled in his throat like venom.
"....you bitch...."
She stared at him, her blue eyes unyeilding. She wasn't going to apologize....not for having a bit of fun. Especially when he had enjoyed himself rather well......The large white dog snarled, shaking his head as he tried to comprehend her actions.
"I thought you cared about me....."
She said nothing, staring at him for a moment too long before reaching down to pick up her piece of meat. And then he was on her with a flash of teeth. Grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and shaking her back and forth like a rag doll. Analise was so surprised by the attack that she didn't know how to respond. And went limp in his jaws. It was just a fit of anger on the males part though, and when he tasted blood it quickly subsided. He released her, letting her fall to the ground in a white pool of fur.
"I'm so sorry! " He gasp, standing over her he reached down to touch her. To which she promptly clamped her jaws down on his nose. With a squeal and several accusations and cruel words he left her be. Stomping away with her name on his lips. Whimpering the little white dog stood, trying to twist her head to lick at the small wound on her shoulder. But it was no use, she just wasn't that flexible. It wasn't a bad wound, just a small bite. But her owners would probably keep her locked up for a few days because of it. She sighed, and looked very much the rejected puppy as she sat there with her shoulder bleeding, staring at the large hunk of meat that still lay at her feet. Today.....was not turning out to be a good day....
